We’re seeking an Environmental Regulatory Specialist/Scientist to join our Environmental Assessment and Permitting team in Atlantic Canada.

The position is a full‑time permanent role; the hiring process is ongoing and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Key Responsibilities

Work in a collaborative team of technical, environmental, and engineering specialists to support the environmental assessment and permitting processes

Assist project teams in the preparation of technical documents, environmental assessments, and regulatory applications

Support the identification and assessment of sensitive environmental features, constraints, alternatives, potential effects, mitigation measures, and avoidance opportunities

Contribute environmental regulatory knowledge and expertise to a wide variety of projects

Promote a strong health and safety culture and actively participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Program

Capabilities and Credentials

Ability to work with initiative, professionalism, and confidentiality, multitask, and adapt to change in a very dynamic environment

Basic understanding of provincial and federal regulations, permitting requirements, and environmental assessment processes within Atlantic Canada

Demonstrated effective writing and communication skills

Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing quality deliverables in a timely manner

Education and Experience
Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, management, planning, or a related field is preferred, or

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, management, planning, or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of environmental and regulatory‑related experience.
