Skilled Painter & Decorator at UNB

Enhance the University of New Brunswick campus as a Skilled Painter & Decorator in Fredericton, NB. This full-time role requires a strong background in painting and decorating.

In this position within the Capital Planning & Operations team, you'll report to the Paint Shop Foreperson and engage in skilled maintenance tasks. You will apply various finishes, erect scaffolding for high-altitude work, and prepare surfaces diligently. Your expertise will help to maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all campus stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply exterior and interior finishes with precision

• Prepare surfaces through cleaning and priming processes

• Supervise the work of Trades helpers effectively

• Mix and adjust paint according to specifications

• Apply safety measures to minimize hazards during work

Requirements:

• Valid current license in the Painting and Decorating Trade

• 3 years of experience at the Journeyperson level

• Knowledge of National Building Code and safety standards

• Capable of interpreting technical drawings

• Physical capability to perform required trade functions
