Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

Overview

Our client, a manufacturer and distributor, is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and financial management. This fully onsite role requires close collaboration with operations, purchasing, and leadership, and offers the opportunity to shape financial strategy in a growing, privately held company.

• Oversee all accounting functions (A/P, A/R, payroll, GL, inventory, job costing).
• Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and divisional P&Ls, providing variance analysis and strategic insights.
• Drive cost accounting.
• Strengthen internal controls, optimize ERP systems, and improve financial processes.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role.
• Strong background in manufacturing or production accounting; service-based cost structures a plus.
• ERP/accounting systems expertise; advanced Excel skills (SAP preferred).
• CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.
