Administrative Assistant, Accounting Support
Location: Deal area, NJ (Synagogue Office)
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: 10–12 hours per week
Salary:$20-$35/hr - DOE
We are seeking a highly reliable and committed Part-Time Administrative Assistant to provide essential support to our Accounts Receivable and Collections team. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of our synagogue by ensuring smooth and accurate operation within the Accounts Receivable(A/R) department. This is primarily a computer-based position requiring strong technical skills and focus. The ideal candidate must be ready to commit to the part-time schedule and lean into the role by being proactive, organized, and supportive of the existing team's efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Collections Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and data entry support to the Collections team, minimizing their administrative burden and ensuring organized file management.
- Accounts Payable Assistance: Assist with organizing, verifying, and processing A/R documentation, invoices
- Data & Record Maintenance: Enter and maintain accurate financial records and member data within accounting software and departmental spreadsheets.
- Communication Support: Draft professional correspondence (letters and emails) related to accounts, dues, and general finance inquiries.
- Administrative Filing: Organize and file confidential financial records, ensuring all documents are easily retrievable and securely stored.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience with Quick Books
, Microsoft Excel
, and Microsoft Outlook is required. - Communication
Skills:
Strong written and verbal language skills with a professional demeanor suitable for member and vendor interactions. - Commitment & Reliability: Must be prepared to commit the necessary 10–12 hours per week and show a dedicated, proactive approach to all assigned tasks.
- Organizational
Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and ability to organize complex financial documentation. - Prior experience in an accounting support or administrative role is a plus.
- A flexible part-time schedule ideal for supplementing income or managing other commitments.
