ADAM D’ALOIA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: (FHS Students)
Adam D’Aloia aka “DJKyleAdams” was Staten Island born and raised who had a successful career DJ’ing in New York City as well as a renowned graffiti artist. His life was cut short at 28 on April 22, 2016. His smile, laugh, love of music and movies along with his loyalty to his friends and family is sorely missed.
One (1) $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to attend an accredited college, university, professional or trade school in the United States.
Selection Criteria- Must be a resident of Freehold Township or Boro;
- Participation in the music department for at least three years;
- At least a 3.0 grade average;
- Participation in at least one other extra-curricular activity for at least two years.
- Submit a 500 - 750-word essay with the following included:
- How has your experience in the music department shaped you to become a better person?
- List any musical activities and community service in which you have been involved.
- How long have you studied music? What musical instruments do you play?
- Your presentation may include accompaniment. Please email an mp4 or unlisted You Tube link.
- Letter of recommendation - This letter should be from your high school music director. Please include the name of this person and his/her relationship to you.
Selections will be made by the D’Aloia family and the Adam D’Aloia Scholarship Committee. Recipient will be chosen by the Freehold Boro High School Music Department and will be presented at the Annual Senior Awards Ceremony.
