Externship

Our externship program runs throughout the year, excluding June 1st through June 15 th, with on-site housing provided. Externships begin on Mondays and are available for a minimum of five days to a maximum of three weeks. Our program is very rigorous, you will see and participate in many interesting cases which will give you a sense of what to expect as an intern in private practice.

Externs are expected to assist doctors and technicians with the daily operations of our hospital, including placing catheters, giving medication, observing outpatient appointments, and scrubbing in to elective and emergency surgeries. During the day, you will help perform daily exams, including TPR's, and administering medications. In the evening, you will be asked to assist the overnight doctor and technicians with patient care and after hours emergencies.

Externships are open to students attending any AVMA accredited veterinary school in the US and overseas.

You will be required to submit a copy of your resume or CV, a letter of intent, a letter of good academic standing from your school, proof of insurance and a digital picture of yourself.
