F. Oakley Memorial Scholarship: (Freehold Township High School Students)

One (1) $1,500 scholarship will be awarded by Syneos Health, formerly InVentiv Health. This scholarship has been created in memory of Gerard Oakley, a 2009 graduate of Freehold Township High School. Gerard attended the Richard Stockton College of NJ, majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2014. Later in 2014, Gerard began his employment at InVentiv Health in Princeton, NJ.

Gerard was a diligent worker but perhaps more importantly, a great person. Gerard was kind, respected by his peers, had a great sense of humor and was a friend to all.

• The applicant must be a graduating senior Freehold Township High School;
• The applicant must be pursuing a degree in the sciences at an accredited two or four year college/university;
• The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 ("B" average);
• Consideration will be given to those applicants whom best exemplify the qualities of Gerard.

• Submit a copy of your transcript and college/university acceptance certificate or letter;
• Submit two letters of recommendation (at least one from a member of the Freehold Township High School Science Department);
• Submit a brief essay (one page) describing yourself, your goals and how you exemplify the qualities described above.

Selection will be made by Gerard’s family. All decisions of the selection committee are final.
