Field Service Engineer – Dornier Med Tech
Delivers on Dornier Med Tech’s commitment to quality customer service. Utilizes technical and communication skills in providing total preventive and corrective maintenance for Dornier Med Tech medical equipment with the objective of delivering the highest degree of customer satisfaction.
This job is an at‑will position. Employment in this job is not for any fixed period of time, and either the Company or the employee may terminate employment at any time, with or without advance notice, and with or without cause. The Company may change the terms or conditions of employment at any time.
Compensation:
$90,000‑$105,000 (education and experience may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended).
- Technical – Provides preventive and corrective maintenance as directed and required. Responsible for or assists in site installation and de‑installation, including packing, unpacking and inspecting equipment. Responsible for the installation of Technical Bulletins.
- Administrative – Performs the administrative duties associated with the job, including expense reports, time cards, parts requisitions, installation reports, service reports, and other reporting duties. Assures that all paperwork is completed neatly, accurately and submitted promptly. Responsible for the maintenance of assigned tools, test equipment and tech spares. Responsible to help sell and market, both internally and externally, the image and reputation of Dornier Med Tech.
Assists the sales and marketing operation in ensuring overall success of the corporate goals. - Travel – 50%‑70% travel with occasional overnight stay required. Performs on‑call standby duty and travel as required. Must be prepared to work overtime and odd hours, when directed.
- Developmental – Performs on‑the‑job training of less experienced technicians. Responsible for developing and maintaining good customer relations.
- Supervisor – Not Applicable.
- Education/Qualifications – Associate Degree in electronics or equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license, be insurable for motor vehicle operation, clear security access, and possess a personal credit card for emergencies.
- Experience – 5‑7 years of technical‑related service experience. X‑ray Field Service Experience highly preferred.
- Aptitude – Mathematical skills: ability to calculate figures, discounts, interest, commissions, percentages. Reasoning skills: solve practical problems with limited standardization. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Operational Skills – Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Technical and computing knowledge in service of diagnostic equipment (X‑ray, lithotripsy, lasers, ultrasound) and use of test equipment such as oscilloscope. Capable of operating diagnostic testers.
- Physical Demands – Frequent sitting, occasional standing and walking. Must lift or move up to 50 pounds. Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
