EA Talent Solutions has been engaged by a well‑established wholesale distribution client seeking an experienced, hands‑on Controller to lead the organization’s financial and accounting functions. This is a high‑impact, highly visible role working directly with ownership to drive both day‑to‑day financial operations and long‑term strategic decision‑making.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to manage the details of daily accounting and stepping back to provide strategic financial insight. This individual will oversee accounting across multiple entities, maintain strong banking relationships, and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the company’s financial reporting.

• Lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations across multiple business entities
• Partner closely with ownership to provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations that support strategic decision‑making
• Develop, monitor, and report on budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and financial performance

• Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including month‑end and year‑end close
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and inventory accounting
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Maintain and reconcile accounts across all entities, including intercompany transactions
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets

• Manage banking relationships, including lines of credit, loans, and treasury functions
• Serve as the primary point of contact with banks, external accountants, and auditors
• Oversee compliance with debt covenants and reporting requirements

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
• Streamline and improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting
• Support audits, tax preparation, and regulatory filings

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA and/or MBA a plus
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller
• Experience in wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or a related inventory-based industry strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing accounting across multiple entities
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience working with banks and managing lending/treasury relationships
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
