Operations Leader – Workers’ Compensation & Occupational Health
5 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants
Embodied pay range: $130,000 – $350,000+ (base + incentives, depending on background and scope)
About the Role
A growing healthcare organization is launching a comprehensive Workers’ Compensation & Occupational Health division. We’re looking for a mid-career operations professional with hands‑on WC / employer‑health or occupational‑health center experience — someone who knows how the business works from the ground up and can help build, run, and refine it operationally.
This isn’t a maintenance job. It’s a chance to shape workflows, clinical operations, employer relations, and service delivery from nearly day one.
What You’ll Do (Operations & Leadership Responsibilities)
- Lead day-to-day operations for WC & Occupational Health services across multiple sites in NJ/NY.
- Design and implement patient/employee care workflows: injury care, return-to-work programs, employer physicals, testing, follow-up, and employer services.
- Manage clinic staffing, scheduling, provider coordination, and support staff to ensure high-quality, timely care.
- Ensure regulatory and payer compliance across WC and employer-health services — stay on top of WC rules, state regulations, and employer requirements.
- Partner with business development/sales functions to support employer onboarding, service implementation, and customer satisfaction.
- Track and report key operational metrics: service turnaround time, case outcomes, employer satisfaction, utilization, revenue, and operational efficiency.
- Work with clinical leadership to align care protocols with operational constraints and employer expectations.
- Improve service delivery through continuous process improvement — streamline procedures, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure a consistent employer and employee experience.
Who This Is For (Ideal Background & Qualities)
- Mid‑career experience in occupational health, employer‑health services, workers’ compensations clinics, or employer-sponsored health/WC operations.
- A solid understanding of WC / employer health payer and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing or coordinating multi-site operations, staffing, and clinical workflows.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills — you’re comfortable both "getting hands dirty" and thinking strategically.
- Ability to interface with employers, payors, brokers/TPAs, clinical leaders, and internal staff — excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- A mindset suited for building something new: adaptable, solutions‑oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and driven to create structure from scratch.
What’s Different Here
- You’ll help build the program from the ground up — not just run an existing system.
- The role is supported at the executive level
, with real resources behind it. - You’ll operate in a high‑demand market (NJ/NY WC & employer health), giving you room to shape service and impact.
- For the right person, there’s significant upside
: leadership visibility, influence on structure & growth, and compensation tied to performance and results. - Total comp ranges from $130k–$350k+, depending on experience, responsibilities, and past operational scope.
- The role offers a meaningful chance to impact employer health and WC outcomes, build a team, and shape an emerging division in a growing healthcare business.
