Dietetic Assistant-Newton Medical Center-Part Time

Overview

Responsible for working with nutrionists to improve patient's well-being by providing dietary support. Provides nutritional care and follows up with patients. Communicates patient's nutritional information appropriately to other health professionals.

• Coordinates patient's meal plans with healthcare professionals and nutritionists.
• Takes patient meal orders via phone and at the bedside.
• Assists with meal selections while taking into consideration cultural and/or religious preferences.
• Monitors patient meal tickets; this includes reviewing and modifying as needed to comply with prescribed diet order.
• Processes new diets, changes, tube feedings and NPO orders efficiently while keeping accurate records.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-3 years of prior experience.

• Prior experience in a call center or other healthcare setting preferred.
