Role Summary

The Packaging Supervisor oversees daily packaging department activities, supervising production, quality, and warehousing of packed product to meet company standards, service, and cost objectives. Responsible for communicating, motivating, and supervising staff, and coordinating with HR/upper management on personnel issues.

Responsibilities
  • Motivate a diverse workforce to exceed department goals in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Supervise all packaging lines and ensure daily targets are met.
  • Coordinate with engineering for equipment preventive maintenance and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Manage department audits to ensure compliance with cGMP and SOPs.
  • Audit employee training data and production batch records.
  • Provide training and develop staff to ensure adherence to cGMPs and SOPs.
  • Responsible for packaging Planned deviation, CAPA, and change control.
  • Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Investigate customer complaints.
  • Inspect department facilities and equipment for SOP, cGMP, and safety compliance.
  • Schedule and issue work orders to maintenance for equipment upkeep of encapsulation and ancillary machines.
  • Coordinate with Engineering for equipment changes and upgrades.
  • Supervise, develop, mentor, engage, and evaluate employees; conduct annual performance reviews and related documentation.
  • Ensure packaging line clearance after cleaning per SOP.
  • Responsible for Global Serialization System and assist in troubleshooting when needed.
  • Ensure efficient operation of the entire packaging line and conduct in-process and challenge testing per packaging procedures.
  • Provide input during NOI investigations and CAPA.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School or GED with 7 years of related work experience — Required
  • Education:

    Associate Degree with 5 years of related work experience — Preferred
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) with 3 years of related work experience — Preferred
Education
  • High School or GED 7 years of related work experience - Required
  • Associate Degree 5 years of related work experience - Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) 3 years of related work experience - Preferred
Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level sufficient to understand job terminology - Advanced
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal procedures or instructions - Advanced
  • Mathematical and mechanical aptitude - Advanced
