Supply Chain Manager

Overview

A fast-growing, regulated manufacturing business is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Manager to lead its end-to-end planning function. This role is accountable for demand planning, master production planning, and material planning, ensuring consistent product availability, optimised inventory, and efficient operations.

Working closely with senior planning and cross-functional stakeholders, the Planning Manager will translate customer demand into executable production plans while aligning capacity, materials, and compliance requirements. Operating within a highly regulated food / nutrition manufacturing environment, the role plays a critical part in enabling growth, improving supply chain agility, and strengthening planning discipline.

• Lead demand planning, master scheduling, and material planning to align customer demand with production capacity and supply constraints.
• Own and govern the Master Production Schedule (MPS), ensuring it reflects accurate demand signals, capacity assumptions, and raw material readiness.
• Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Commercial, and Logistics teams to enable smooth plan execution and high service levels.
• Ensure planning processes comply with GMP, food safety, and regulatory standards, including lot control, shelf-life management, FEFO/FIFO, and allergen segregation.
• Maintain and continuously improve planning master data within the ERP system, including BOMs, routings, and lead times.
• Define and monitor inventory strategies that balance service levels, working capital, and waste reduction across finished goods, WIP, and raw materials.
• Support new product introductions and commercialisation by ensuring planning readiness, material availability, and production alignment.
• Play a key role in S&OP execution, providing forward-looking demand and supply insights, identifying constraints, and recommending trade-offs.
• Proactively manage risk and scenario planning, clearly communicating constraints and mitigation options to leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data, KPIs, and best-practice planning methodologies.
• Lead, coach, and develop members of the planning team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Food Science, or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years’ experience in supply chain or planning roles within regulated manufacturing environments such as food, nutrition, or CPG; including leadership responsibility.
• Strong working knowledge of GMP and food safety frameworks and their impact on planning and production.
• Hands-on experience with ERP / MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar); exposure to demand planning tools is advantageous.
• Experience with shelf-life driven planning, lot traceability, and allergen management is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead S&OP and cross-functional planning processes.
• Strong analytical capability with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels.
