Overview

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for a self-motivated Regional Outreach Coordinator for Atlantic and Ocean counties. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Unhoused, the ROC’s primary focus is the planning and implementation for the programs and initiatives aimed at addressing and alleviating homelessness within designated rural and suburban areas in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Manage region by overseeing grant activities, monitoring performance and effectiveness using outcome data, and recommending program modifications as needed.
  • Supervise regional staff by providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Lead outreach teams to locate unsheltered individuals, assessing needs for housing, healthcare, and mental health services.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations and government agencies, and advocate for homelessness services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of service provisions for the homeless; working knowledge of social, economic issues relevant to low-income communities; and trends in the field of homelessness and social services.
  • Strong understanding of housing first principles and harm reduction.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage crises.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and relate to a diverse population in a multicultural environment.
  • Proven ability to engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses using empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
