Registered Nurse; RN; Cardiac Services

Overview

Centra State Healthcare System, headquartered in Fr eehold, New Jersey, is a leading non‑profit healthcare delivery system. We seek a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiac Services team. The RN provides nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with ANA standards, the New Jersey Practice Act, Joint Commission requirements, and established hospital and Nursing Department policies and procedures. The RN also assists physicians by monitoring patients during cardiac testing procedures to ensure safety and accurate clinical assessment.

• Obtains a complete nursing history and baseline assessment that is systematic, consistent, and continuous, and documents it.
• Analyzes health status data to determine nursing diagnosis and needs for appropriate care, medical intervention, or services of other clinical professionals.
• Identifies patient problems and formulates nursing diagnosis considering physical, psychological, spiritual/cultural, and educational needs with a multidisciplinary approach.
• Includes patient and family in the development of an individualized plan of care.
• Administers medications following CSHS policies and manufacturer’s instructions.
• Takes immediate action in the event of a medication variance occurrence.
• Engages in continuous professional development to upgrade own nursing practice.
• Recognizes adverse reactions to medications and responds appropriately.
• Identifies changes in patient condition or emergencies and takes appropriate action.
• Participates in unit conferences to discuss quality issues and improvement strategies.
• Delegates components of care to non‑professional caregivers as appropriate.
• Makes decisions demonstrating knowledge of nursing practice and sound judgment in patient care management.
• Demonstrates critical‑thinking skills to achieve maximum outcomes.
• Provides appropriate pain interventions and documents assessment, intervention, and reassessment.
• Notifies physician for unrelieved pain as indicated.
• Educates patient/family regarding cardiac risk factors and healthy lifestyle changes.
• Introduces cardiac rehabilitation recovery plan to patient.
• Supports operations by floating between units as an RN and providing 1:1 observation when required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Two years of experience in telemetry or critical care required; experience in emergency care considered.
• Current New Jersey RN License required.
• CPR Certification required.
• ACLS Certification required.

Compensation Range: $44.00 - $74.80 per hour.
