Overview
The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers University is hiring a Laboratory/Technical Assistant in the Department of Plant Biology.
Responsibilities- Water, cut, plant or weed research trials on research farms and in greenhouses.
- Maintain turfgrass research areas on campus and on farm.
- Assist with fertilizing, propagation of breeding materials, plant tissue collection, seed harvest, and develop propagation techniques.
- Organize and upkeep research areas and supplies.
- Assist PI or researchers in data collection and analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific/technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience in plant care, agriculture, or farm setting (preferred).
- Interest or knowledge of Plant Biology, Plant Breeding, or related discipline.
- Work in extreme weather conditions, including rain, wind, and cold.
- Lift up to 40 pounds.
- Plant tissue collection for laboratory analysis.

Position status:
Part time, 19.5 hours per week, day shift, fully on-site.
Salary: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour.
