Centra State Medical Center currently has an employment opportunity available for a Security Officer I. A Security Officer I is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors in CS healthcare facilities. This role involves monitoring the premises, preventing unauthorized access, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the enforcement of hospital policies and procedures related to safety and security.
ResponsibilitiesSecurity and Surveillance
- Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to deter and detect criminal activity, suspicious behavior, and unauthorized access.
- Monitor security cameras, alarms, and other surveillance equipment to ensure the safety of the premises.
- Secure entrances, exits, and restricted areas to prevent breaches or theft.
- Control pedestrian and vehicular traffic as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned, including working various 8- or 12-hour shifts (including holidays), being available for call-back assignments, and attending and successfully completing all mandatory training.
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods (up to four hours).
- Respond promptly to disturbances (CS Security Assistance) involving Team Members, Patients and/or Visitors. The Security Officer will deescalate the situation and is responsible to ensure the safety of all persons and property.
- Respond promptly to all acute medical events (CS Medical Assistance) to assist clinical staff as needed.
- Respond promptly to all fire alarms (CS Facility Alert Fire Emergency) and participate in fire suppression and assist Team Members, Patients and Visitors as needed.
- Respond and investigate all missing children (CS Missing Person/Child/Infant) and any suspected infant abduction (CS Infant/Child Abduction).
