Job Description
*
* The Role:

** Gotham FC is seeking an assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach / Sports Scientist to provide additional support for players and augment our world-class high-performance team.  This role requires the knowledge and experience to assist in the programming and administration of team strength and conditioning programs, and proficiency in both practical and administrative aspects of player monitoring.

* Key Responsibilities:

*** Assist Strength & Conditioning Coach in developing individualized player programs based on testing data, macro and micro cycles, and in-season training periodization and game density.
* Help supervise team and individual strength & conditioning sessions, including equipment set-up and breakdown, maintenance, and cleaning.
* Collaborate with the Director of Player Health & Performance and Sport Scientist to refine and execute a thorough testing battery to monitor changes in player strength, power and fitness development that demonstrates player progress and areas for improvement.
* Support Strength & Conditioning / Pitch Based Return to Play Coach in player reconditioning and return to play programs.
* Assist Sports Scientist with data collection, upload/download, cleaning, and analysis.
* Support Sports Scientist in field setup and breakdown for the operation of monitoring devices during training and games.
* Collaborate with Nutritionist, Performance Chef, and Performance and Medical Team to support provision of protein/collagen post-training/game beverages where required, stocking and re-stocking of supplements, snacks, and hydration supplies.
* General functions
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Athlete Management System, web-based Strength & Conditioning Software, and all relevant databases, as directed and per department protocols.
* Travel with the team to away games as designated by the Director of Player Health & Performance.
* Assist in design and monitoring of off-season programming in conjunction with the HPM team.
* Stay abreast of the latest research in Strength and Conditioning and Sports Science and participate in continued education.
* Other Tasks and Duties.
* Participate in promotional, sponsorship, and public relations activities requested by the Club upon reasonable prior notice, including, but not limited to, ticket, game, team and stadium promotions, clinics, speeches, interviews, photo sessions, public appearances, sponsor activities and participating in media programs as directed by the club.
* Other tasks and duties as assigned by the Owner, General Manager and Director of Player Health & Performance.

* Qualifications:

*** Master’s or equivalent in Sport Science, Kinesiology, Physiology, or a related field
* Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Accreditation or equivalent
* Proficient soccer skillset with playing experience at the collegiate level or higher desirable
** Capability & Other Characteristics:  
*** Excellent analytical, communication and collaboration skills
* First Aid and CPR certification
* Knowledge of performance requirements for adult and youth female athletes
* Experience working with performance monitoring system (e.g. GPS and force measurement products)
* Experience working in collaboration with coaches and other support staff in a multidisciplinary high-performance team
* Proficient on computer with software such as Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Power Bi
* Strong verbal, written, in-person and presentation communication skills
* Excellent organizational, data collection, and planning skills
* Able and willing to travel for away games.
* Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed
* Current and valid driver's license

* Location:

** This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, currently located in Whippany, New Jersey.
