Freight Broker​/Dispatcher

Our client in Glen Rock, NJ is looking to hire an experienced freight broker to work in Glen Rock, NJ. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm. Salary: BOE

• Perform freight services according to company and government regulations.
• Create, coordinate, and manage pick-up and delivery schedules, coordinating with shippers, carriers, dispatchers, and customers.
• Monitor all routes and schedule backhauls with same trucks to utilize max. cost of the daily route.
• Track and report shipment status of loads.
• Book orders with carriers and assist in preparation for loading.
• Coordinate logistics for projects coming from multiple customer sites and vendors.
• Manage multiple deliveries, process spot requests, and develop new sales strategies to generate new leads, improve business, and develop a sales pipeline.
• Identify safe carriers for freight services, develop business relationships with carrier contacts, and provide current and prospective customers with shipping quotes.
• Maintain strong relationships with multiple carriers.
• Maintain accurate records of all activity, ensuring freight paperwork is complete and approved prior to transportation.
• Resolve freight discrepancies and keep relevant parties apprised.
• Respond to customer concerns and queries in a timely, professional manner.
• Remain abreast of emerging market trends.

• 2+ years of experience in afreight and transportation logistics and operationsoriented position (brokerage, dispatch, etc.) assigning loads and booking trucks on load boards
• 2+ years of experience utilizing DAT Freight Analytics
• Ability to complete responsibilities and follow directions under little supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Track record of superior communication, follow through, and listening skills with colleagues and customers
