Logistics Coordinator - Heavy Haul

This position is responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation of oversized and overweight loads. The role focuses on route planning, permitting, regulatory compliance, and daily operational oversight to ensure specialized freight moves safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all applicable regulations.

• Review and evaluate proposed haul routes to ensure compliance with state, county, and local heavy haul regulations.
• Secure all required OSOW permits through coordination with state agencies and third-party permit services.
• Serve as the primary liaison between drivers, internal teams (Project Managers, Engineers, Equipment Management), and external agencies.
• Ensure transportation operations meet all USDOT, FMCSA, and state-specific safety and compliance requirements.
• Track, organize, and maintain accurate records related to shipments, permits, and compliance documentation.
• Oversee daily driver and runner schedules, including time tracking and coverage planning.
• Establish and monitor key performance metrics to improve operational efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Verify insurance compliance for all third-party haulers to mitigate organizational risk.

• 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatching, or a related field, with direct exposure to heavy haul or OSOW freight.
• Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, including permitting and safety standards.
• Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, approximately 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility as operational needs require.
