The Engineer role includes quality and engineering responsibilities in support of production.

Responsibilities
  • Creating new products based on the specs and making the CNC programs accordingly
  • Working with engineering team for the new product developments/ pricing.
  • Designing/fabricating new jigs/fixtures and gages for the quality/manufacturing purposes.
  • Support Operations when making the new products and solve the manufacturing problems/issues in the shop.
  • Following up with planning and manufacturing to make samples if needed, and Support CES (Customer Experience support) on special order, paint consumption and locker design request.
  • Investigates production related Quality issues, preparation and management of reports (SCAR, ICAR) to document, root cause analysis, implements corrective action, recommends modifications to processes and procedures.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Continually looking for process automation, innovation opportunities and prepare SWI and SOPs for quality and manufacturing.
  • Continually works closely with Production Manager and Production Supervisors to maximize production capacity.
  • Optimization of equipment programming to improve capacity, throughput and quality.
  • Assist with Non-Conformances (NCM), Quality Investigation and Countermeasures.
  • Working with maintenance and help to repair the machines. (when a new design is needed).
  • Contributes to the overall functioning of the team by maintaining awareness of best practices/emerging issues, both internally and externally, sharing best practices and building effective working relationships across the team and company.
  • Help create, revise, improve, and administer quality policy and procedures.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Processes, and Policies are followed.
  • Work with quality reps from other locations to recognize and implement best practices and provide coverage when members of the quality team are away.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills
  • Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers, and internal departments
  • Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
  • AlphaCAM/Mastercam proficiency.
  • AutoCAD/Solid Works experience with 3D Modelling.
  • CNC experience would be an asset.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
