Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner conducts comprehensive client assessments and supports the principles of the treatment program. This role also ensures the delivery of nursing services with a focus on continuity, while maintaining the highest ethical, legal, and moral standards. Create and uphold a safe and therapeutic environment in alignment with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications- Master’s or Doctoral level program completion from an accredited institution
- Qualification for licensure in Illinois and eligibility for a Controlled Substances Registration Certificate (DEA)
- Strong written communication skills to ensure accurate and timely completion of required documentation
- Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, staff or community
- CPR certification, or completion within three months of employment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
- Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance
- Work hours prescribed and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned
- Conduct psychiatric and health assessments, providing follow-up care and appropriate medication management
- Deliver Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for clients with anxiety disorders
- Lead and facilitate group psycho educational programs for clients
- Provide staff education on relevant topics and offer clinical instruction for students
- Attend and contribute to administrative and team meetings as required
- Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives as assigned
- Engage in Infection Control activities and stay informed about current infection control practices
- Monitor and follow up on existing or new medical conditions that may impact treatment
- Make appropriate dietary referrals as needed
- Maintain certification in adult and infant/child CPR
- Participate as a member of assigned teams and actively engage in all team meetings and activities
- Understand and comply with all principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer
- Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance
- Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by leadership
- Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm or Tuesday-Friday 8:00am-6:30pm (40 hours per week) - Shift: 1st shift
