We have an immediate opening for a 3rd Shift Machinist to join our inclusive team in Freeport, IL. The Machinist will operate and set up conventional, numerical control (NC), and specialized machines and machining centers to accurately machine steel and brass components. The wage range for this position is $27.75 to $29.00 per hour, with an additional 10% shift premium for the 3rd shift.
Employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of employment. What You’ll Be Doing- Maintain a safe, clean, organized workspace and promote a safety culture.
- Follow procedures, control plans, and quality standards; operate machines efficiently.
- Assess situations fairly and make timely performance‑enhancing decisions.
- Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and anticipate challenges.
- Use innovative strategies to resolve issues and optimize resources.
- Complete Total Productive Environment activities and keep necessary tools.
- A high school diploma or GED is required; alternatively, candidates may have one to three years of relevant experience and/or training, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Capable of reading and interpreting documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance manuals, and procedural guides.
- Proficient in performing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
