We have an immediate opening for a 3rd Shift Machinist in Freeport, IL. The Machinist will operate and set up conventional, numerical control (NC), and specialized machines and machining centers to accurately machine steel and brass components. Wage: $26.93 – $29.00 plus a 10% shift differential.

Schedule:

Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. A $1,500 sign‑on bonus is available, $750 paid after 3 months and $750 after 6 months.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace and promote a safety culture.
• Follow procedures, control plans, and quality standards; operate machines efficiently.
• Assess situations fairly and make timely performance‑enhancing decisions.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and anticipate challenges.
• Use innovative strategies to resolve issues and optimize resources.
• Complete Total Productive Environment activities and keep necessary tools.

• High school diploma or GED required; alternatively, 1–3 years of relevant experience or training, or comparable education and experience.
• Capable of reading and interpreting safety regulations, operating and maintenance manuals, and procedural guides.
• Proficient in performing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
