We have an immediate opening for a 3rd Shift Machine Operator in Freeport, IL. Machine operators set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate and assemble metallic and nonmetallic parts. The position offers a wage range of $20.95 to $23.00 per hour plus a 10% shift premium, with a schedule of Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Responsibilities- Demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and adheres to safety regulations.
- Complies with all standard work procedures, control plans, processes, and quality guidelines.
- Responsible for setting up, operating, and dismantling unit assembly and sub‑assembly workstations.
- Exhibits flexibility, responds constructively, and supports changes in procedures, processes, technology, responsibilities, and assignments.
- Fits and assembles parts into complete assemblies, ensuring dimensions and alignment are accurately verified.
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measure, utilizing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Capability to apply logical reasoning and comprehension to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
- Perform job duties while regularly sitting, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms; frequent talking or hearing is required.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Essential vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
