Shaft Grind Machinist 3rd Shift
Location:
Freeport, IL. Shift: 3rd, Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Wage range: $26.93 – $29.00 plus a 10% shift differential. Sign‑on bonus: $1,500 (split 50/50 at 3 and 6 months).
We have an immediate opening for a 3rd Shift Machinist to join our inclusive team in Freeport, IL. The Machinist will operate and set up conventional, numerical control (NC), and specialized machines and machining centers to accurately machine steel and brass components.

Danfoss offers 3 weeks paid PTO accrued over each bi‑weekly paycheck plus 13 paid holidays, including an annual paid shutdown week between Christmas and New Year’s.

- Complies with all standard operating procedures, control plans, processes, and quality standards. Capable of efficiently operating multiple machines.
- Assesses situations impartially and makes timely decisions aimed at enhancing work performance.
- Effectively organizes and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines with high quality, while anticipating potential challenges ahead.
- Employs innovative strategies and ideas to resolve issues, optimizing the use of available resources.
- Performs all required Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities and maintains possession of necessary personal tools.
- High school diploma or GED; alternatively, one to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
- Capable of reading and interpreting documents like safety regulations, operating and maintenance manuals, and procedural guides.
- Proficient in performing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, utilizing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- MUST have machining experience. This position is not eligible for company sponsorship.
