Ivy Volunteer Opportunity At Karadeniz Technical University
The Karadeniz Technical University is looking for an IVY volunteer! The volunteer will support the Interreg project "BIOBLACK - Raising Awareness for the Black Sea People to Recognize and Protect Black Sea Biodiversity", under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin programme. The objective of the Interreg project "BIOBLACK" is to introduce marine organisms to raise public awareness about the Black Sea biodiversity.
This will be achieved through the use of digital IT tools, the establishment of a food pyramid (food web) consisting of marine organisms (miniature) derived from 3D printer, Citizen Science, sea survey etc. The more informed Black Sea people especially young generation about marine organisms, they may give more attention to protect their Black Sea ecosystem.
The volunteer will be carrying out the following activities:
- Communication and dissemination activities related to the BIOBLACK project, including preparation of content for social media, website updates, newsletters, and information materials, photos and other visibility materials as well as basic data collection related to communication and stakeholder engagement activities, under the supervision of the mentor
- Raising awareness among local communities and stakeholders about biodiversity of the Black Sea and its importance of the sustainable protection of the marine environment.
- Organization and implementation of project events, workshops, training sessions, and awareness-raising activities.
- Engagement with local stakeholders, beneficiaries and partner organizations to promote the project's objectives and Interreg's role.
Other information:
Financial support of 28.08 euros per day (week-end and holidays included).

Trabzon, Türkiye
Start and duration:
Starting in August, for 6 months.

Languages*:
