Job Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a 13‑week assignment in Freeport, Illinois. The assignment starts 07/20/2026 and requires 36 hours per week with 12‑hour night shifts.
Required Qualifications- One year recent experience as a Telemetry RN
- Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS Certification
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
- NIHSS certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
The Telemetry RN is responsible for comprehensive patient care in a telemetry unit, focusing on continuous cardiac monitoring and assessment. The role requires clinical skills, critical thinking, communication, and commitment to patient safety.
Essential Work Functions- Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments as per nursing practice, focusing on cardiac care
- Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac procedures
- Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
- Observes patients, records significant conditions, notifies supervisor or physician of cardiac status and response to interventions
- Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols for cardiac emergencies
- Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
- Initiates patient education plans per individualized cardiac needs
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team for comprehensive telemetry patient care
- Maintains confidentiality of patients and client
- Performs other duties within scope of practice
- Adheres to hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical abilities – remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend
- Interpersonal skills – work effectively with diverse personnel, positive attitude, professionalism
- Technical/motor skills – fine manipulation, assist with procedures and department equipment
- Mental requirements – cope with public interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision when needed, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration
