Emergency Room Nurse Illinois. This role involves providing emergency care in a busy community hospital setting. The position requires flexibility to rotate start times and the ability to handle a wide range of patient diagnoses, from neonates to geriatrics. The nurse will work closely with physicians, mid-level providers, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

• Schedule:
  
  Days/Midshift with shifts starting between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  
  Valid license to submit; at least 3 years of ER experience;
  Certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Moderate sedation experience; experience with lumbar puncture; familiarity with critical care drips; ability to manage longer patient stays depending on weather and volume.
• Shift Details: 8-hour shifts, with the ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Additional Information:
  The ER can treat approximately 60-80 patients per 24 hours, utilizing a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4-5. The department includes a triage area, behavioral health safe rooms, and in-house security available 24/7. Staff monitors and radiology services are connected directly to the ER. Blood draws are performed by techs or nurses, and staff must be flexible and adaptable to operational needs.
