About the Company: MOVA Metals is a global technology leader in the recovery of critical metals and innovator in renewable energy. Having serviced the oil refinery industry since 1973, MOVA is the world’s largest recycler of spent petroleum catalysts. We use hydrometallurgical operations to produce the pure oxides of molybdenum and vanadium. These unique patented operations allow us the flexibility to optimize metal content in spent catalyst.

Our processes deliver a sustainable alternative to landfilling and exporting of hazardous materials. We are the leading Verified Recycler and Reclamation Facility of spent catalyst globally. The process recovers molybdenum and vanadium that are then reused in chemical and metallurgical applications by major catalyst producers, steel and battery manufacturers.

Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dependable Health & Safety (H&S) Technician who is committed to building a career in occupational health and safety. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong work ethic, attention to detail, professionalism. This role is well suited for someone who follows established procedures, communicates effectively, and is committed to supporting a positive safety culture. Serves as a front-line health and safety resource for field operations.

• Monitor and enforce compliance with company health and safety policies, OSHA regulations, site procedures, and permit-to-work requirements.
• Review, verify, and audit work permits, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and other safety documentation to ensure hazards, required controls, and approvals are complete and accurate before work begins.
• Perform atmospheric monitoring and maintain portable gas detection equipment, including daily bump testing, basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Conduct routine field inspections, safety observations, and audits to identify hazards, verify compliance, and recommend or implement corrective actions.
• Exercise Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions or behaviors present an imminent risk, and promptly report concerns to site leadership.
• Verify that required safety controls, personnel, and equipment are in place for high-risk work activities, including confined space entry, hot work, lockout/tagout, excavation, and line breaking.
• Participate in pre-job planning, contractor safety meetings, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action development to support continuous improvement.
• Inspect and monitor emergency response and life safety equipment, ensuring required inspections, maintenance, and documentation are completed.
• Support safety training, site orientations, toolbox talks, emergency drills, and other health and safety initiatives to promote a strong safety culture.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready safety records, inspection reports, permits, and incident documentation while meeting established deadlines.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety programs, procedures, and field practices, and provide recommendations to the Safety Manager.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Safety Manager or site leadership.
• Identify gaps, recommend practical solutions, and actively participate in H&S program development activities.

• High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a health and safety role within an industrial, manufacturing, refinery, chemical, or similar high-hazard environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and/or 29 CFR 1926 (Construction) standards, as well as applicable federal, state, local, and site-specific safety regulations.
• Hands-on experience with portable gas detection equipment, including bump testing, calibration, and atmospheric monitoring for permit-required work.
