The Senior Economist supports the Office of Cannabis Management's market and industry reporting through primary data collection, survey development, and economic analysis. The role involves designing market research surveys, compiling data from public and private sources, conducting statistical analysis, and preparing reports and visualizations for state leadership and stakeholders. This is a full-time position based in New York City with telecommuting allowed.
Keyqualifications
- Bachelor's degree in economics or related field with 18 semester credit hours in economics plus 6 credits in computer science, econometrics, mathematics, or statistics
- Two years of professional experience collecting, interpreting, and analyzing economic information and data
- Experience designing and evaluating economic models and long-term simulations
- Preferred: experience in cannabis, regulated industry, or consumer research
- Preferred: proficiency in Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Alchemer, or Tableau
- Valid New York State Driver's License or capacity to meet transportation needs
