Position: CIVIL ESTIMATOR

Civil Estimator

Representing a leader in the industry, we are searching for an experienced CIVIL ESTIMATOR to join their team. To be considered, candidates must have proven experience (5 years minimum) in estimating self-performed work in the areas of drainage, sewer, earthwork, including support of excavation, sheeting, utilities & roadwork. HCSS, NYC & Long Island union locals, NYS DOT experience required. FIELD EXPERIENCE A PLUS

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope, conditions, and potential risks.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  • Prepare bid proposals and submit them to clients within specified deadlines.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid negotiations with clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the civil construction industry required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficient in using estimating software and tools (e.g., Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, Plan Swift).
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
