Safety First Group is seeking an experienced safety professional to support a pipeline and midstream construction project based in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This role is built for someone who knows how construction work actually gets done in the field and understands how to support safe execution without losing sight of schedule, coordination, and real world jobsite conditions.
The right candidate will bring solid field experience, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively with contractors, supervision, and project teams. This is a hands on role for a safety professional who is comfortable being visible in the field, addressing issues directly, supporting planning efforts, and helping keep expectations clear across the job.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a consistent field safety presence across active construction work areas
- Interface daily with contractor supervision, craft leadership, and project teams to support safe and efficient execution
- Support construction planning activities by identifying exposure points, practical controls, and field readiness concerns before work begins
- Monitor compliance with site expectations, project safety requirements, and established work practices
- Participate in field walks, pre-task discussions, coordination meetings, inspections, audits, and day-to-day safety reviews
- Coach field supervision and craft personnel as needed on jobsite expectations, hazard recognition, and safe work execution
- Identify risk trends, recurring issues, and breakdowns in field performance, then help drive timely corrective action
- Support incident reporting, preliminary fact gathering, field level follow up, and documentation as required
- Maintain a professional working relationship with client personnel, contractor teams, and site leadership
- Communicate clearly, address issues early, and help resolve concerns in a way that protects both people and project execution
- Help reinforce accountability in the field while maintaining credibility and professionalism with all levels of the site team
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of direct safety experience supporting pipeline and midstream construction projects in the field
- Strong working knowledge of industrial construction safety expectations and field execution requirements
- Proven ability to work in an active construction environment with multiple moving parts and changing priorities
- Strong field presence with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with craft, supervision, and project leadership
- Ability to identify risk, address issues directly, and influence teams without creating unnecessary friction
- Experience participating in field inspections, audits, incident follow up, and contractor interface activities
- Working knowledge of common construction hazards, permit related controls, work planning expectations, and field level compliance practices
- Ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and sound judgement in a demanding project environment
- OSHA 30
- CHST, CSP, or equivalent professional credential
- Experience supporting large capital construction projects
- Experience working around multiple contractors and fast paced construction schedules
- Experience with pipeline spreads, station work, terminal work, or related midstream construction scopes
- Strong documentation skills and the ability to communicate field issues in a clear, practical manner
This position is field based and will require routine presence in active construction areas. The role may involve extended walking, standing, climbing, and working outdoors in changing weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable working around heavy equipment, active crews, and evolving jobsite conditions while maintaining attention to detail and professional conduct.
