Electrical Project Engineer Texas

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a leading company in the energy and industrial sector on a full-time contract assignment
.

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience managing electrical capital projects from concept through commissioning in industrial or process plant environments.

• Lead the electrical engineering scope for capital and expense projects.
• Develop engineering deliverables including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load lists, equipment specifications, and datasheets.
• Manage the Management of Change (MOC) process.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout project execution.
• Review electrical design packages, vendor documentation, and power system studies.
• Support equipment selection for transformers, switch gear, MCCs, large motors, and VFDs.
• Oversee construction, commissioning, energization, and project closeout activities.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA 70E, and applicable industry standards.
• Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, troubleshooting, and technical issue resolution.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience delivering electrical projects in industrial, petrochemical, refining, power generation, or oil & gas facilities
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Medium- and high-voltage power systems
  • Protective relaying (SEL systems preferred)
  • Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash)
  • Grounding, bonding, and lightning protection
  • Large motors, MCCs, switch gear, transformers, and VFDs
• Experience working with EPC contractors and managing field construction and commissioning activities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
