- Currently live within a reasonable commuting distance of Freeport
- Be willing to travel to and from Freeport each workday
- Be prepared to relocate near the Freeport area
We need a proactive, organized, and results-driven recruiter who understands the urgency, technical requirements, safety expectations, work schedules, and labor market challenges associated with plant and industrial operations.
The selected candidate will manage recruiting for:
- Hourly Operations Personnel
- Instrumentation and Electrical Technicians
- Technical and Professional Positions
- Supervisory and Leadership Positions
- Ability to evaluate technical qualifications, employment history, shift availability, compensation expectations, safety awareness, and overall candidate suitability.
- Experience working directly with hiring managers to clarify job requirements, establish priorities, resolve recruiting challenges, and fill urgent or difficult positions.
- Working knowledge of fair and consistent selection practices and applicable employment laws.
- Strong written communication, verbal communication, organization, follow-through, and candidate-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to enter an operating plant environment, walk through industrial areas, and comply with required PPE and site safety requirements.
Candidatos must meet one of the following:
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field, combined with directly relevant industrial recruiting experience.
A substantial equivalent combination of education and directly relevant industrial recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
- Recruiting experience within a chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, heavy-industrial, or energy organization.
- Experience supporting a safety-sensitive facility or 24/7 plant operation.
- Experience managing high-volume hiring campaigns and urgent workforce requirements.
- Experience sourcing difficult-to-fill skilled-trades, maintenance, operations, and technical positions.
- Experience coordinating mechanical aptitude, technical skills, basic skills, and safety-related pre-employment assessments.
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies based on immediate and anticipated workforce requirements.
- Manage recruiting from job requisition and sourcing through candidate selection, offer, pre-employment processing, and onboarding.
- Develop targeted sourcing plans for difficult-to-fill industrial, operations, maintenance, technical, and skilled-trades positions.
- Source candidates through Linked In, job boards, professional networks, employee referrals, trade schools, career fairs, community organizations, and industry-specific channels.
- Conduct detailed applicant screenings and initial interviews.
- Verify candidates’ technical qualifications, employment history, availability, schedule requirements, compensation expectations, and overall suitability.
- Coordinate interviews, employment offers, pre-employment assessments, and onboarding requirements.
- Ensure candidates understand work schedules, physical requirements, PPE expectations, and the safety-sensitive nature of plant positions.
- Maintain accurate and timely candidate and requisition information (in the applicant tracking system).
- Provide recruiting updates regarding candidate availability, progress, hiring challenges, and recommended actions.
- Prepare recruiting reports and hiring metrics for HR leadership and management.
- Support recruiting events, trade-school relationships, employee referral programs, and community outreach initiatives.
