R Commissioning Manager (Open) –

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Airgas is hiring for a REMOTE Commissioning Manager. We are looking for a candidate who values diversity and inclusion and can lead field engineering management, inspections, commissioning activities, and project execution from development to handover.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site point of contact for construction and commissioning management.
• Oversee safety compliance including site orientation, work permits, job safety analysis, toolbox talks, audits, and HSES events.
• Verify receipt and inspection of materials and equipment, manage material non-conformities, and material custody transfer to contractors.
• Manage all project documents from Project Development to handover, ensuring deliverables meet specifications and maintain quality and consistency.
• Manage and challenge external/internal suppliers of goods and services, including E&C and alliance EPCM, to ensure project goals are met and that the scope is covered by vendors and contractors.
• Expedite external/internal suppliers as required to meet delivery goals.
• Maintain a log of communications between external partners for reference.
• Develop and manage construction and commissioning project schedules and report delays to the Project Director/Manager.
• Manage field communications among internal and external partners according to the communication plan.
• Support contract administration and assist the Project Manager during potential contractual disputes.
• Track and approve changes across project phases; maintain a change log and escalate open changes as needed.
• Follow up and promptly close out action items generated during construction and commissioning, reviewed monthly with the Project Director/Manager.
• Establish and maintain knowledge of all project aspects to temporarily fill in for the Project Manager when required.
• Contribute inputs to influence construction and commissioning execution strategies (contracting strategy, constructability reviews, work package breakdown, contractor qualifications, and execution plans).

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma

• 5 years of field construction and commissioning experience

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in an Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university or college (preferred)

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (a plus)

• Industrial gas experience (a plus)

Travel

Travel is approximately 75% throughout the US and parts of Canada.
