Position: Analytical Technician          at Olin Chemicals        in        Freeport,        Texas

Analytical Technician

The Analytical Technician plays a critical role in supporting Olin's business objectives by providing first-line instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting and technical knowledge. This role also works with the plant and business personnel to ensure adherence to Quality systems and customer expectations.

What You'll Do

  • Perform advanced calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical systems and laboratory data management systems
  • Monitor analytical performance, evaluate data validity, apply statistical quality control, interpret results, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Manage instrument certification schedules, calibration standards, and documentation to ensure compliance and operational readiness
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through implementing and validating new equipment, enhancing EH&S and overall analytical performance

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
    Associates Degree
    * in a Science discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial lab environment; analytical instrument experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Sample Manager (LIMS), IC, GC, HPLC, titration, maintenance and troubleshooting preferred
  • Understanding of the theory, capabilities, limitations, and applications of analytical instruments used on a routine basis
  • Must be able to work call outs and overtime, often times on off-hours and/or weekends
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
