Lab Technician
The Process Chemistry Laboratory Technician supports chemistry development lab operations by conducting essential laboratory analyses and evaluating results. This role delivers critical data for process improvement and research. The technician prepares samples, performs calibrations, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and methodologies. Utilizing data systems for acquisition and performance monitoring, the technician reports findings to clients and stakeholders. The position requires comprehensive technical skills in analytical scientific methods and operational processes and may serve as an informal resource to less experienced team members.
Perform routine laboratory analyses, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
Collect samples in accordance with established Sample Plans.
Prepare basic calibration standards to maintain analytical system integrity.
Conduct basic calibration and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Evaluate data validity, apply basic statistical techniques, interpret results, and take appropriate corrective actions.
Monitor analytical systems to identify issues, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate unresolved problems.
Document, communicate, and archive analytical and calibration results following established protocols.
Adhere to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) standards and Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) procedures.
Suggest enhancements to laboratory processes and tools to drive continuous improvement.
Escalate non-routine issues and requests to appropriate team members for resolution.
Completion of Vocational or Upper Secondary Education (e.g., High School Diploma) with relevant laboratory, manufacturing, or related experience.
Additional coursework in chemistry or related fields beyond Upper Secondary Education is preferred.
