Theresponsibilitiesoftheindustrialinsulationjourneymanistobeknowledgeableandcompetentintheapplicationofsheetmetal/cladding,cryogenic,andhotserviceinsulationmaterialstopipingsystems,exchangers,furnaces,boilers,tank,vessels,ductworkand/orothermechanicalsystemsinordertohelpcontrolandmaintaintemperaturesandnoisereduction.

• AdherestoallOSHA,Marquis Construction Services ,andDOWsitespecificsafetyrequirementsforapplyinginsulationandcladdingmaterials.
• Participateinsafetypre-jobauditsandtailgatemeetingswiththeworkcreworprojectteamtocommunicateandreviewallsafetyhazards/safetyrisksandtheprecautionsrequiredtoeliminatethoserisks.
• Mustparticipateintheprocessoffillingout,reviewing,andsigningallJSA’s,iPlan,iChat,iCard,S&CE/TXOinsulationchecklists,SWPand/oranyotherrequireddocumentationpriortobeginninganyjobtask.
• Readblueprintsandspecificationtodeterminethescopeofwork:locations,quantities,andsizesofmaterialsrequired.
• Measure,markandcutinsulationmaterialstorequiredspecificationforcoveringsurfaces,usingtapemeasures,handsaws,knives,andscissors.
• Fitinsulationaroundobstructionsandshapeinsulatingmaterialandprotectivecovering/claddingasrequired.
• Determinetheamountsandtypesofinsulationneededand/orrequiredandmethodsofinsulation,basedonfactorssuchaslocation,surfaceshapeandequipmentuse.
• Installsheetmetal/claddingaroundinsulatedequipmenttoprotectinsulationfromweatherconditionsorphysicaldamage.
• Apply,remove,andrepairinsulationonindustrialequipment,pipes,ductwork,orothermechanicalsystemssuchasheatexchangers,tanks,andvesselstohelpcontrolnoiseandmaintaintemperatures.
• Mustbeknowledgeableinthefabricationofsheetmetal/claddingtosupportinstallationinthefield.
• Willingnesstoworkwithothercrewmemberstoaccomplishtask,supporting and/orhelping.
• Effectivelycommunicatingwith Supervisors,Peersand Subordinates.
• Responsibleforcleaningworkarea–removingdebrisandmaterials.
• Anyotherdutiesasassignedby Supervision.
• Understandingtheinstallationprocessofbothcryogenicandhotserviceinsulationmaterials.

• Theworkenvironmentcharacteristicsdescribedbelowrepresentthosethatanemployeeencounterswhileperformingtheessentialfunctionsofthisjob.
• Workingaroundmovingmechanicalparts.

• Specificvisionabilitiesrequiredbythisjobincludeclosevision,distance vision,peripheralvisiondepthperceptionandabilitytoadjustfocus.
