Maintenance Technician
Location:
Freeport, TX, United States
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on rotating and static mechanical equipment to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the production facility.
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and modify mechanical equipment and systems, including pumps, piping, valves, bearings, gears, gaskets, fittings, and related components.
- Diagnose equipment failures, isolate malfunctions, disassemble equipment, and complete necessary repairs or component replacements to restore operational performance.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machine tools to perform maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
- Execute scheduled maintenance activities and maintain accurate work order history and equipment records within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Complete and document predictive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance and reliability standards.
- Manage critical spare parts inventory to support equipment reliability and minimize operational downtime.
- Maintain the maintenance shop and parts warehouse to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Work independently to make technical decisions, escalating complex issues to management when appropriate, and supporting continuous safe and reliable plant operations.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in an industrial manufacturing, production, or maintenance environment.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment and systems in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings, technical documents, and maintenance-related schematics.
- Strong computer skills with experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS), documentation tools, and standard business applications.
- Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and effectively prioritize maintenance activities.
- Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support continuous plant operations and respond to maintenance issues as needed.
- Ability and willingness to support multiple facilities throughout the Texas City/Houston Ship Channel area.
