Position Objective:
The Long Term Sub (LTS) Teacher will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. This position exists to create an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every student can reach their fullest potential. The LTS Teacher will collaborate with colleagues, families, and the broader school community to promote student success, while upholding district policies and professional standards.
- Deliver high-quality instruction, feedback, and grading to students.
- Collaborate with special education teachers to differentiate curriculum and instruction.
- Remain up to date regarding curriculum content.
- Plan and assess curriculum and instruction effectively.
- Mentor students’ understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate.
- Manage the classroom environment effectively.
- Deliver effective instruction, including making learning goals clear and using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
- Use innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence.
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for all students, including implementing specific strategies for students with special needs or English language learners.

- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Appropriate MA Certification as an Educator in the Content and Grade Level Field
- Pass a pre-employment criminal background check
- Substitute Teaching and/or Teaching Experience
- Successful delivery of standards-based instruction aligned with the MA Curriculum Frameworks
- Familiarity with inclusive practices and culturally responsive teaching
- Proficiency with technology, digital learning tools, and blended learning approaches
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practice
- Ability to foster an engaging, supportive, respectful classroom environment that promotes equity and high expectations for all students
In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School Collective Bargaining Agreement. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding. Daily Rate $90-$150.
