Plant Controller

Job Description

This is a true player‑coach role. We are seeking someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, digging into the details, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement.

• Lead all plant accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Manage month‑end close processes, including inventory, accruals, labor, overhead, fixed assets, payroll, and intercompany transactions.
• Own manufacturing and cost accounting processes.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and operational performance.
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, BOMs, routings, and cost allocations.
• Partner with operations leadership to improve plant performance and profitability.
• Prepare forecasts, budgets, and financial analyses to support decision‑making.
• Identify business challenges and proactively develop solutions.
• Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements.
• Lead and develop a small accounting team.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong expertise in manufacturing accounting:
  • Cost accounting
  • Inventory accounting
  • Manufacturing variances
  • Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Routings
  • Accruals
  • Financial reporting
• Experience working with manufacturing ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor, JDE, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and large data analysis.
• Prior experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Operations and Plant Leadership.

• CPA designation.
• Experience in a large‑scale manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a high‑growth and/or private equity‑backed company.
• Proven track record driving change and process improvement.

• Base Salary: $180,000–$230,000
