Staff Accountant (CONTRACT)
You are an experienced Staff Accountant with a strong general ledger background and knowledge of U.S. GAAP. You are detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced accounting environment. You will support the Finance team with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, financial analysis, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
This position pays: $30/hour
Location:
Fremont, CA (hybrid schedule)
- Prepare and record accurate and timely journal entries.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Review and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
- Analyze account and financial variances and provide explanations to the Controller.
- Ensure accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
- Partner closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance, and other accounting team members.
- Research and resolve general ledger discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with financial reporting and other accounting projects as needed.
- Manage multiple accounting priorities while consistently meeting reporting and close deadlines.
- Strong hands-on general ledger accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after the initial training period.
- Must be local to the Fremont area and available to work in a hybrid environment.
- Ability to successfully complete a standard background check.
