Looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented and hands‑on Supply Chain Analyst to help implement industrial engineering and Lean principles in the processes at our warehouse in Newark, CA. Through a detailed understanding of the warehouse’s objectives and in collaboration with internal and external teams, the Supply Chain Analyst will help improve processes to increase overall efficiency, capacity, quality and safety.
Job Responsibilities- Assist Process Engineers in developing and deploying new processes and methods to improve efficiency, data visibility, inventory accuracy.
- Assist Process Engineers to design and implement new workstation layout to increase space utilization and reduce process cycle time.
- Collaborate with the operation team to identify constraints and execute solutions; respond to daily process related escalations.
- Conduct time study; recommend and implement updates to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) following the change management process.
- Improve workstation safety and ergonomics.
- Be the liaison between operation team and third‑party vendors to coordinate routine activities; track and follow up on open items and escalations.
- Support projects with data analysis, process mapping and proposals of system enhancements.
- Support ad‑hoc requests from stakeholders e.g. data reporting, root cause analysis, etc.
- Pull data query from multiple sources and convert into story‑telling charts/graphs for root cause analysis and process improvements.
- Assist in solution testing, debugging and documentation.
- Validate data/dashboards and provide insights for decision making.
- Understands the definition of cycle time, the 8 wastes, root cause analysis, Just‑in‑Time (JIT), 5S and DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to create process flow maps and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to conduct cycle time studies.
- Ability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and deadlines.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio).
- Intermediate skills in GSuite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings and Forms).
- Intermediate data analysis skills, able to run SQL queries and build Tableau dashboard.
- Ability to gather data from multiple sources and develop reporting based on in-depth understanding of the process and business needs.
- Ability in learning new tools quickly.
- Ability to pay strong attention to details.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable.
- Vendor management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics.
- 3+ years of related work experience.
- Data analysis and understanding of data: candidate should be able to read SQL, does not need to be a coding expert.
- Supply chain experience.
- Good communication skills and openness to learn and take on challenges.
- Supply chain‑specific experience: process engineer background / warehouse / transportation logistics would be nice to have.
- Experience with contract management and working with vendors.
- Self‑starter and initiative‑taking.
