Strategic Sourcing Manager - Facilities and Construction
This role is for an experienced Facilities and Construction Category Manager to be based at Western Digital US sites (San Jose or Fremont).

Strategic Sourcing
Develop Facilities and Construction category strategies for local operations aligned with global category management strategies, including Sustainability related sourcing initiatives.Partner with business stakeholders to identify and qualify capable suppliers; initiate and manage Requests for Proposals and Quotations (RFPs/RFQs); provide guidance on contract terms and conditionsLead cross-functional teams through supplier selection processes, applying rigorous scoring criteria to evaluate proposals in accordance with company policiesNegotiate Procurement agreements, including Master Agreements, Statements of Work, and Change Orders, balancing business objectives, legal requirements, and cost considerationsAnalyze proposals for Facilities services and equipment supporting factory, research and development, and other business functionsConduct total cost analysis, support ROI assessments, perform price and rate benchmarking, and negotiate favorable terms to maximize Western Digital's purchasing leverageProvide contract management expertise for the category across business unitsEvaluate stakeholders requests and validate competitive market conditionsCategory Management
Develop, refine, and implement category strategies and tactics that optimize procurement value for Facilities and Construction servicesEstablish subject matter expertise on Facilities and Construction services procurement, including industry trends, benchmarking data, and best practicesLead cross-functional meetings with business partners and develop communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed on procurement processes, supplier strategies, and policiesSupplier Management
Manage supplier relationships with emphasis on supply risk, contract risk, and cost managementResolve supplier issues and mediate customer-supplier contract disputes as neededConduct supplier performance reviews with vendors to assess performance and drive mutually agreed improvement initiativesSupport reporting requirements, including supplier scorecards and performance analyticsContract Management
Evaluate processes and recommend improvements to standardize contract and sourcing lifecycle management and systemsEnsure negotiated pricing and deliverables are accurately reflected in contracts; coordinate proposal comparisons and final contract termsManage contract execution, retention, and renewal through electronic signature processesProvide timely updates, support quarterly management reporting, and address issues promptlyQualifications
Education
Bachelor/Masters degree required with 0-5+ years of experience in Facilities and Construction services strategic sourcing or related categories.Degree in Business or Engineering preferredOther professional certifications like PMP, CPSM, CPCM will be desired.Specific Knowledge
Demonstrated skills in negotiating and formulating Facilities and Construction services contracts, understanding cost models and various price structures, management of contractual, IP and law and risk management.Experience in Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) contract execution will be an added advantage.Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills requiredAbility to work well in a high-pace dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure task completion and deadlines are met as requiredProficient with Microsoft Office applications:
Excel, Word, Power Point Subject matter expertise in sourcing & contracting tools (Oracle and other supply chain tools)Supplier Management (supplier report card) and KPI managementSolid stakeholder management, especially in multinational company and willingness to support global initiatives as may be required.Communication Skills:
Communicate well in English both in verbal and written formExcellent team facilitation and presentation skills requiredAbility to present to all level of management / stakeholders and articulate strategies and performance metricsAdditional Information
