We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Chief Estimator to join our team in Fremont, CA, for a full‑time on‑site role in heavy civil construction. You will lead the estimating process by preparing comprehensive cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and developing pre‑construction strategies. Responsibilities include monitoring market trends, identifying cost‑effectiveness opportunities, mentoring junior estimators, and collaborating with project teams to ensure accuracy in budgeting and bidding processes.

This role demands a deep understanding of heavy civil projects and a commitment to delivering successful outcomes.

• Expertise in cost estimation, quantity takeoffs, and construction project pricing
• Strong understanding of heavy civil construction, including site development, earthwork, grading, and paving
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications
• Competency using estimating and project management software programs
• Leadership and mentorship experience, especially in guiding junior team members
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with stakeholders, vendors, and project teams
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 8 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating and project management
• Certifications like Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or others relevant to the construction industry are advantageous
