As the Superintendent for the Canvas Apartments in Fremont, CA,you will be the on‑site leader, directly responsible for managing the daily operations of the construction site, including supervising trade contractors, enforcing the project schedule, and ensuring all work adheres to safety regulations and quality specifications. Their core purpose is to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive job site, translating the project manager's plan into physical construction.

Your primary work location will be at the project site in Fremont, CA.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Field Operations
  • Assist the Superintendent in managing day‑to‑day site activities and enforcing jobsite protocols.
  • Help manage subcontractor work, including schedules, deliveries, and material staging, ensuring project stays on schedule and meets quality expectations.
  • Perform site walks to monitor progress, identify issues, and ensure work is being performed per plans and specs.
Project Coordination
  • Help enforce the construction schedule, identify potential delays, and support timely issue resolution.
  • Work with the Project Engineer and office team to communicate field needs and documentation.
  • Attend coordination meetings and assist with on‑site walkthroughs with inspectors and consultants.
Quality Control & Safety
  • Monitor subcontractor work for quality and conformance with construction documents and local codes.
  • Coordinate corrective work with subcontractors as needed.
  • Promote a strong culture of job safety, conducting toolbox talks and daily safety inspections, and supporting implementation of the company safety plan and OSHA requirements.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and work with the Superintendent to resolve them properly, ensuring safety violations, incidents, or quality issues are reported to the Superintendent or the company immediately.
Documentation & Communication
  • Maintain accurate daily field reports, site logs, and project and photo documentation.
  • Track deliveries, work progress, and subcontractor attendance.
  • Assist with punch list creation and management through project closeout.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of building code, construction regulations and general contracting practices for your project state/location.
  • Familiarity using software programs including Google Suite, MS Word and Excel, MS Project, and construction in management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Build).
  • Strong planning and organizing skills, with the ability to manage multiple timelines and deadlines simultaneously on a busy jobsite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering collaboration among diverse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, and regulatory requirements.
