Our client, a leading innovator in the technology and creative industries, is seeking a Makeup Artist to join their team.
About the Role We are looking for a talented Makeup Artist with strong hands‑on application skills to support our AR/VR Product Data Operations team. This is a unique opportunity for artists who love the craft of makeup but are also excited about how beauty, creativity, and technology come together.
In this role, you will apply makeup directly to real participants during onsite data collection sessions. Your work helps ensure that our teams can accurately capture skin tones, textures, pigments, and cosmetic effects that will later inform the development of next‑generation avatar technology.

This is a full‑time, onsite position at client offices in the Fremont and Burlingame campuses.
Primary Responsibilities- Apply professional makeup on participants for data collection sessions, ensuring consistent, high‑quality looks across a wide range of skin tones and facial features.
- Work closely with research and production teams to understand specific cosmetic requirements for each type of session.
- Maintain excellent hygiene practices, including full sanitation of brushes, tools, palettes, and workstations.
- Manage and organize makeup kits, shade ranges, disposables, and supplies; identify restock needs proactively.
- Offer professional insight on how makeup choices—coverage, finish, pigments, shimmer, etc.—may influence the accuracy of capture data and adjust application techniques accordingly.
- Support participants throughout the session with professionalism, comfort, clarity, and a positive experience.
- Professional experience in makeup artistry, beauty services, cosmetic retail, or related fields.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; able to work calmly with participants in a studio‑like environment.
- Self‑motivated with excellent organization and time management abilities.
- Solid problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly in fast‑paced settings.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs, with group assistance for heavier items (reasonable accommodations available).
- Experience in user research, data collection, production studios, photography sets, or other structured environments.
- Leadership or team coordination experience.
- Interest in AR/VR, digital avatars, gaming, or emerging beauty technology.
- Technical curiosity or comfort learning new tools and workflows.
