Position DescriptionOhlone College is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for temporary part‑time teaching assignments. Assignments may include day, evening, and weekend courses and may be in‑person, online, or hybrid. Applications are accepted year‑round and remain in the pool for two years.
Duties and Responsibilities- Teach 2‑D Design/Color classes in accordance with post‑secondary level course outlines.
- Evaluate student work using clear criteria and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain and submit accurate records (grades, syllabi, attendance) by published deadlines.
- Create an equity‑based and welcoming classroom environment.
- Perform duties described in Board policy, the United Faculty of Ohlone contact, the Faculty Handbook, and as assigned in Fremont, Newark, or eCampus locations.
Master's in fine arts, art, or art history; or a Bachelor's in one of the above AND a Master's in humanities; or equivalent. Commitment to community college goals of equity‑based and anti‑racist education, and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications- Teaching experience at the community college level (desired).
- Experience using innovative methods that encourage student engagement.
- Experience creating socially conscious syllabi and inclusive pedagogical practices.
- Experience addressing equity issues with diverse student populations.
- Experience with course management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae.
- Cover letter addressing the desirable qualifications and commitment to diversity.
- List of three professional references (name, position, organization, phone, email, relationship).
- Unofficial copies of all college transcripts.

Foreign TranscriptsTranscripts issued outside the United States require a course‑by‑course analysis and an equivalency statement from an accredited evaluation service, which must be submitted by the Final date to receive applications.
