Teaching Assistant

This position is for a 10-month school year with eligibility for an additional 2 months to be paid by State Special School Benefits through unemployment insurance (SSSB Program). The Teaching Assistant provides instructional and technical support to individuals and groups of students throughout all phases of Career and Technical Education (CTE) instruction. The position assists students in developing technical skills, including the safe and proper use of trade tools, power tools, equipment, and related materials.

The Teaching Assistant supports students with assignments, projects, and hands-on activities, encourages quality work, and guides students in conducting quality reviews to meet state and industry CTE standards.

The position assists CTE teachers with preparing instructional materials, organizing classroom and laboratory activities, monitoring the safe use of equipment and supplies, and maintaining inventory. The Teaching Assistant also assists with Technical Advisory Committee meetings, special CTE events, and other department activities. The position monitors students during field trips and other off-campus activities, promotes a safe and productive learning environment, and performs other duties as assigned.

The CTE Teaching Assistant reports to the CTE Supervisor.
